Lake Maintenance
A source of pride and joy to the community, the design objectives of the Samaan Grove Development’s system of lakes, ponds and wetlands are intended for the following reasons:
- To provide a drainage system for the anaerobic system currently in place.
- To develop a sustainable wildlife reserve.
- To remain a significant focal point for the community.
As part of the initial development, the originator committed to the public that this development of lakes would become one of the best places in Tobago to view our wildlife. To date, the results of this initiative have exceeded all expectations of homeowners and visitors alike. We can enjoy many different waterfowl and birds that visit our compound. Once appropriately maintained, the Associations’ ongoing objective for the development is to establish a significant wildlife reserve and create a prominent tourism feature.
How do we maintain these standards?
Eden Nurseries is the Association’s contracted firm that ensures the following is in place following the schedule detailed below.
- Remove of all vines and weeds.
- Maintenance of a two (2) foot channel between the bank and the tall reeds.
- Remove identified excess lilies as agreed with the Association.
- Remove identified excess hyacinth as per agreement with the Association.
- Remove identified excess water grass as per agreement with the Association.
- Removal of Razor grass from the roots (not cut at surface level).
- Remove all debris and associated garbage in and around the identified lakes off-site.
